What to Expect on Your First Orthodontic Visit
Our initial examination is free of cost . During this visit we will address the orthodontic needs of you or your child. We will take fully digital Panoramic and Cephalometric radiographs, Dr. Garcia will evaluate your teeth , and will determine a specific treatment plan for the patient needs. We recommend all the patients to have a cleaning and a check up appointment of cavities with their family dentist before starting orthodontic treatment.
Please assist us by providing the following information:
- Information of your medical or dental insurance. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
- Completed Privacy , Adult or Child registration forms that can be obtained from our website
- A list of medications you are presently taking, any allergy or medical condition that may be of concern.

If it is determined that orthodontic treatment is recommended, you will be scheduled for a longer (60-90 min) appointment to begin you orthodontic treatment. In this appointment, we will take additional records such as a digital scan of your bite , extraoral and intraoral photographs of your teeth and face , and we will proceed with the placement of braces, and instructions on how to take care of your braces.
For the periodic visits, we would like to see you every 6 to 9 weeks to check your progress and make adjustments to your braces. During this time, you will need to keep appointments, follow instructions, eat nutritiously and practice good oral hygiene. It is very important that you continue to visit your dentist regularly.
